About the Role
We’re hiring an Asphalt Laborer to perform a variety of manual tasks that support paving operations and ensure smooth, efficient project progress. This is a full‑time, seasonal position. Union membership is required for this role.
What You’ll Do
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Prepare job sites by clearing obstacles and addressing potential hazards
- Transport and handle construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks
- Support skilled workers such as Operators and Flaggers
- Maintain a clean and organized construction site
- Properly dispose of debris according to safety and environmental guidelines
- Report safety hazards, incidents, or issues promptly
- Stay alert and aware of active construction site conditions
- Maintain regular in‑person attendance
Physical Requirements
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Tolerate noise, odors, dust, grease, and chemicals like gasoline and diesel
- Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Experience in asphalt paving operations (required)
- Experience operating screed on an asphalt paver (preferred)
- Valid Class A CDL (preferred)
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a positive, dependable work ethic
