Foundation Steel
Position Overview
As a Safety Coordinator - Southern Region, you will play a key role in supporting Foundation Steel’s commitment to zero incidents, zero compromises, and zero surprises. You’ll help ensure that fabrication, erection, and rebar field operations are conducted in alignment with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
You’ll collaborate closely with project teams, field crews, subcontractors, and leadership to identify hazards before they occur, promote quality workmanship, and foster a culture where safety is integrated into every decision.
This position will be based in the Dayton, Columbus, or Cincinnati, Ohio area, supporting projects throughout Foundation Steel’s Southern Region. The role includes a combination of office and field responsibilities, with regular travel to active job sites across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
· 3–5 years of safety experience in construction, steel fabrication/erection, or heavy industrial environments.
· Working knowledge of OSHA 1926, AISC, fall protection, rigging & signaling, welding/hot work, and other relevant standards.
· Preferred certifications: CSP, CHST, OSHA 30, or similar credentials.
· Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization.
· Analytical mindset for root-cause investigations, corrective action, and data-driven improvement.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
