Job Description

Basic Job Functions:

The Specialist I, will be responsible for providing support for the Talent Marketing and Communications – People & Process functions for the global HR team. This will include supporting the following: (1) a social media strategy that tells the story of First Solar while expanding our brand reach, awareness and engagement (2) communication efforts for the Human Resource team to internal customers and events, presentations and communications for internal audiences.

Experience:

  • Internship and/or 1-2 years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Branding or Human Resources is required
  • Experience working in a global, multisite organization is preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Previous experience with using social media for recruiting is preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field is required

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their users
  • Must be detail oriented and consistently accurate
  • Ability to follow up on projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Talent Marketing:
    • Social Media:
      • Develop, schedule and publish engaging content across different platforms in alignment with our social media plan
      • Collaborate with social strategy to execute the organic channel and content strategy
      • Shoot, film and edit content for posting
      • Conduct onsite photoshoots and content-gathering sessions on a regular basis
      • Develop and write paid and organic copy for all major social media platforms
      • Monitor and moderate all social mentions of brand across social channels
      • Respond to questions and/or comments on social media platforms
      • Travel to events to promote Talent Brand and create various styles of content
    • Associate Value Proposition & Marketing:
      • Provide support to talent strategies such as: (1) Employer Value Proposition (3) Talent Communities (4) Alumni Groups
      • Assist in developing and maintaining the brand messaging and brand visual elements
      • Ensure campaigns are aimed at communicating our brand messaging
      • Influence brand initiatives, ensuring consistency with tone of voice and brand messaging
  • Communications – People & Process:
    • Communications:
      • Assist with the delivery of HR Communications to keep business partners informed and engaged
      • Partner with HR Global Team to ensure communications are timely, on topic and using the appropriate channels
      • Act as subject matter expert on communications tools such as Bananatag
    • Branding Services:
      • Assisting with onsite with events for executive leadership; in advance and day of
      • Assist with presentation design for executives as needed

Reporting Relationships:

  • This position will report to the Sr Manager, Talent Acquisition and will not have any direct reports
  • This position will work closely with the Senior Specialist, Talent Marketing

Travel:

  • 5-10% travel annually. Current passport and ability/willingness to travel internationally are strongly preferred.

Estimated Salary Range:

  • $45,600-$65,000 / annually
