JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES:
The Industrial Sales Representative is responsible for using their expertise of HCC products and services to help solve problems and fill needs of buyers, product development people and decision makers at potential customers. Their duties include developing, prospecting and qualifying new sales leads, schedule meetings as appropriate with current and potential prospects. Keep the current CRM system updated with all prospect and customer contacts and regularly report/track all sales activities. The primary objective is to identify customers that fit the HCC key customer profile and then sell our products and services to them for an intended long term supplier/customer relationship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times when dealing with customers by
    • Communicating openly, honestly and constructively
    • Treating all customers and employees with dignity, respect and concern
    • Making every effort to promptly resolve any lapse in communication, concerns or problems
    • Asking for information needed to perform all aspects of the position successfully
  • Identify and generate new high quality leads
  • Develop relationships with targeted customers, network with individuals in the industry and develop a reputation as a solutions provider.
  • Contact, sell, manage sales process within related industries of frozen food manufacturers, fresh prepared food manufacturers, commissaries, and shelf stable manufacturers in the U.S.
  • Manage the industrial sales brokers and provide them with both technical and product knowledge support to ensure their success is selling HCC products
  • Attend selected food industry trade shows as needed as an exhibitor and/or an attendee
  • Acquire market information to
    • Determine customer needs, recording and reporting for developing market strategies
    • Understand customer decision making process with products and services
    • Identify pertinent information regarding a competitor’s products, pricing and marketing strategies
    • Maintaining up-to-date awareness of industry activities, trends, environmental issues and government regulations
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:
    • Developing individual strategies and sales goals for customers
    • Presenting products to all types of food manufacturers that can utilize bulk prepared sauces and ingredients
    • Maintain regular electronic and physical on site sales calls to develop relationships, follow up on leads, secure new business and develop and grow existing accounts
  • Maintain active contact database (CRM) and understand needs of customers in order to expand client base for Industrial Operations by researching and developing new lists of potential customers
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Sales, Communications preferred but not required
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to converse comfortably and freely with strangers
  • High level of presentation skills
  • Ability, discipline and integrity to work independently
  • Excellent math and proof-reading skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, Google Drive, Hubspot CRM
  • Self starter – highly motivated
  • Problem solver
