Job Purpose

We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Learning and Development. This role is responsible for creating the future state of learning at Dana Incorporated as it relates to how learning content is created, delivered, managed and measured. The Senior Manager, Learning and Development is responsible for partnering with our executive team, HR and business partners to identify learning needs and design, develop, and deploy curriculums and learning solutions to meet the needs. This role is critical in building a strong leadership culture and ensuring that the organization has the talented leadership needed to achieve its strategic goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s vision, mission and strategic objectives. Leads the strategic planning process for the future state of learning and development to ensure team members get what development they need.
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams and decision-makers. Clearly articulate the value proposition of learning and development investments, fostering understanding and buy-in at all levels.
  • Design, deploy and manage learning and development programs utilizing a variety of instructional methods and technologies to deliver engaging and effective leadership learning that is aimed at building capability and bench strength. Build out the team and leadership effectiveness capabilities to enhance the performance, cohesion and collaboration of Dana.
  • Develop and lead the global portfolio of leadership assessments (360 Degree Feedback, HBDI, etc.), advise on usage and best-in-class practices, and manage internal and external coaching.
  • Manages SuccessFactors Learning administration, and continuous improvement of the Learning module through process improvement, new Workday releases, and implementation of new SuccessFactors functionality / applications.
  • Collaborate and foster strong relationships with senior leaders, HR and other key stakeholders to assess and understand development needs, ensure program alignment and gain buy-in for initiatives.
  • Manages the implementation of outsourced learnings solutions and the relationship with vendors.
  • Partner with leadership and HR to measure bench strength and determine the impact of leadership initiatives. Identifies and monitors success metrics and ROI targets for learning and development.
  • Actively seeks out knowledge on advances in the learning and development field that improves Dana’s learning and development methods and practices.

Experiences and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities in Learning and Development including 5+ years of management experience in a large company 5+ years in project, program, or product management with focus on education programs, curriculum development, or instructional design.
  • Knowledge of professional learning, instructional design and transfer of learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to simplify complex analysis to deliver comprehensible learning solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in developing leaders and experience applying these best practices within organizations.
  • Expertise in competency modeling, needs assessment and analysis, and integrating competencies into organizational insights that build leadership bench strength.
  • Proficiency in evaluation of leadership, learning and development programs.
  • Experience in consulting to senior leaders on leadership issues and capability gaps.
  • Ability to proactively manage large, multi-year projects to ensure budgets, schedules and performance criteria are met. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
