Job Purpose
Dana is seeking to fill the position of a Senior Advanced Powertrain Applications Engineer supporting Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicle Powertrain and EV Systems engineering to reside at DANA World Head Quarters in Maumee, OH. The main responsibilities of this position will be a technical and engineering liaison for Dana Commercial Vehicle Advanced Applications Engineering Teams (focus on electrified systems).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as Primary Technical Point of Contact for one or more customer driven xEV programs and coordinate other engineers in all aspects of xEV application and system engineering process
- Coordinate and manage both current and future customer programs / projects
- Facilitate internal communications between e-Propulsion and EV systems Product Engineering, Sales, Quality, Warranty, Manufacturing and Assembly for specific programs / projects (voice of customer within the Dana organization).
- Champion Engineering change requests and submit ERs & deviations as required.
- Facilitate the implementation of design changes, cost savings and new model launches at customer.
- Work within the customer systems to update and release drawings, models, BOMs, and specifications for Dana products.
- Create customer ECNs
- Perform Dana product application analysis for customer vehicles.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of customer assembly plant build issues and assist with resolution of field, warranty, and quality issues.
- Onsite support of special vehicle builds as well as coordination of special orders.
- Lead electric vehicle system integration and component design discussions with customers
- Support Advanced Program Quality Planning activities as Dana engineering representative.
- Develop and gain customer approvals for cost savings proposals.
- Attend/facilitate/host customer engineering meetings and bring assigned open items to closure.
- Provide product specific expertise in support of the customer's requirements
- Engage and integrate as part of the customer engineering community, representing Dana.
- Represent Dana in a positive, customer-centric, ethical and professional manner.
- When appropriate, participate in internal engineering reviews and meetings.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for Dana to work with customer on new or emerging products or programs.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four year degree in Engineering required (Preferred Electrical/Mechanical/Automotive-Systems Engineering).
- 3+ years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
- Experience in drivetrain/powertrain/chassis engineering or related field
- Experience in xEV systems engineering or related field

- Must be able to handle stressful/pressure situations in a professional manner.
- Willing and able to work excess hours when necessary.
- Must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle control systems including CAN, strategy, calibration, and software release process
- Awareness of ISO26262 / Functional Safety and Requirements mgt. tools
