The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, safety, and overall functionality of the manufacturing facility, building systems, utilities, and production equipment. This role supervises the Maintenance department and ensures efficient operation of the facility and plant systems through preventative maintenance programs, contractor management, equipment reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor partners with Operations, Safety, HR, Purchasing, and other departments to drive equipment uptime, process improvements, capital projects, regulatory compliance, and ISO 9001 standards across the plant. This is an on-site position located in North Baltimore, OH.

What You'll Do

Primary Accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leads the plant maintenance team, ensuring all facility and equipment-related activities are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively
  • Enforces company safety policies and OSHA regulations for employees and contractors while partnering with cross-functional teams (Safety, HR, Production) to support training, compliance requirements, and effective maintenance practices
  • Maintains ISO 9001 procedures, policies, and documentation requirements
  • Develops, implements, and maintains preventive maintenance programs through regular inspection of buildings and equipment
  • Utilizes CMMS (Maintenance Connection) to schedule work, assign tasks, track maintenance activities, and manage spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies to support operational needs
  • Manages maintenance and repair of facility utility systems, including electrical, HVAC, boilers, air compressors, and related equipment
  • Manages capital projects, maintenance work, upgrades, and renovations within budget and schedule constraints
  • Actively involved in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems, and servicing and repairing current equipment and systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and safety standards
  • Identifies and implements improvement projects that enhance productivity, increase uptime, reduce downtime, and improve overall facility performance without compromising safety or quality
  • Initiates Continuous Improvements by using Lean Principles
  • Manages contractor relationships, including contract negotiations and ensuring safe, compliant work practices
  • Communicates with Production to ensure timely maintenance scheduling, equipment status updates, and minimal operational disruption
  • Prepares reports related to maintenance activities, downtime trends, project status, and facility performance
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

High school diploma or GED; technical training, trade certification, or college coursework in Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Years of Experience: 5+ Years Area: Admin and manufacturing maintenance and facilities

management

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance, rubber manufacturing, extrusion, and metal machining
  • Manufacturing preventive maintenance experience

Technical Skills:

  • Electric Controls Expertise (Drive, PLC- Ladder Logic, etc),
  • Strong Hydraulic knowledge (pump, controls, system, valving, etc),
  • Administrative: CMMS (Maintenance connect, MS Office)

Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such as walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.)

Most of the time spent sitting, standing, and walking. May be situations which require up to 25 pounds of lifting. Must be able to bend periodically. Must be able to see and hear.
