About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy, located at the Toledo, OH Refinery, is looking for a Process Safety Manager to drive identification and mitigation oversight of key site risks. This individual will assist site leadership in promoting awareness and protection from these risks throughout the activities executed by the site population. They will ensure robust process safety workflows are consistently implemented through both practical design and assurance activities. Relocation to Toledo, Ohio required and assistance provided.

What you’ll do:

  • Support site leadership in implementing advanced safety systems and embedding strong safety practices across the organization
  • Ensure understanding of and compliance with all regulatory requirements while promoting best practices that exceed minimum standards
  • Partner with the Senior HSE Manager to set occupational and process safety goals, monitor performance, and analyze safety trends
  • Coordinate audits and manage responses to findings
  • Lead and support regulatory compliance efforts by collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Drive process safety awareness and deliver education across the site
  • Coordinate and oversee all required Process Safety Management (PSM) activities

Who are you:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, science, safety/environmental or equivalent
  • 12+ years process engineering, technical safety, or process safety engineering in oil and gas, chemicals or relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of US regulations specifically the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Process Safety Management Standard (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA RMP Rule
  • SAP knowledge
  • MOC, PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, and major accident hazard (MAH) methodologies and good practices
