About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking a Senior Production Lead for our Toledo, Ohio, refinery. The Production Lead serves as the expert for field production knowledge within a process unit. They ensure compliance with process safety management (PSM) and work closely with the Asset Operations Manager to reduce safety risks and drive performance improvements. Additionally, the Production Lead ensures operational continuity by coordinating with the Scheduling & Planning Department and providing guidance during planned outages. They also help drive asset reliability and strategy by prioritizing activities and aligning with the annual maintenance plan.

What you’ll do:

  • On behalf of the Asset Operations Manager, leads the Asset Team to drive continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of the business through the use and prioritization of asset strategies.
  • Reduce process safety risk through compliance with safe work permits, procedures, operating limits, MOC process, isolation plans, ORRs, HAZOP, Self-Verification, and action item completion.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, such as PSV lifts and SOL/SDL excursions.
  • Develop and maintain checklists for car seal database, safety inspections, winterization, and operator rounds.
  • Develop guidance for planned outages in collaboration with Process Engineers, Scheduling & Planning, and 24/7 Operations.
  • Support and develop planned ASM’s, act as SPA for unit-specific Asset Team meetings, and ensure effective communication between the Asset team and the 24/7 team.

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Additional technical education or equivalent in engineering is desirable.
  • 4+ years' in petrochemical operations
