The Analyzer Engineer identifies safety & reliability improvement opportunities and leads the refinery analyzer projects. This position reviews instrument design and provides technical support for analyzer system specification, installation, configuration and maintenance. This role provides the primary focus on support for analyzer engineering activities throughout the refinery. The role will work on development and management of refinery analyzer projects, and includes project definition, economic analysis, engineering design, field execution, project startup, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
Provides support for analyzer engineering activities throughout the refinery
Directs critical activities requiring knowledge and expertise concerning analyzers
Provides technical input in determining priority and scope of equipment repairs
Reviews engineering projects and improvements to ensure compliance with refinery standards and good engineering practices
Directs the efforts of third-party design engineering and construction contractors
Support analyzer technicians in maintaining analyzers and documenting history
Identify new analyzer technologies and evaluate for suitability and maintainability
Manages the administration of the continuous emission analyzer monitoring preventative maintenance program
Owns/Updates site analyzer site practices
Provides oversite/ownership of the area monitor program
Proactively identify obsolete analyzers/equipment and update the 10-year analyzer budgetary plan accordingly
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering/Engineering Technology
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of industrial analyzer engineering experience
Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams and panel schedules
Preferable Experience:
Prefer at least 2 years in a refinery environment. Checkout, troubleshooting and startup experience desirable
Knowledge of refining process/operations, environmental air regulations, sample system design is desirable
Knowledge of industry codes such as applicable ANSI/API codes, ISA standards, and the NEC. Technical knowledge of instrument design, specification, documentation, installation and maintenance
Other:
Successful candidate must have (or be able to obtain) a TWIC card
