Benchmark Restaurant Group is currently seeking RESTAURANT COOKS to join our team at several of our locations including Benchmark Restaurant, Claude's Prime Seafood, and Harbor Town Tavern!
Restaurant Cooks are key members of our team! Restaurant Cooks prepare the meals that our customers love. The Cooks are responsible for preparing meal ingredients, dishes, and condiments, and other items as directed by senior culinary staff.

Requirements:
Job Outline:
- Pares meal ingredients as directed by the head chef, senior chef, or other staff.
- Prepares fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning.
- Prepares meat by trimming, cutting, and portioning.
- Prepares simple dishes such as breads or salads.
- Mixes or prepares condiments, dressings, and sauces.
- Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.
- Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
Experience and Education:
- High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.
- Prior related experience preferred.
Location and Travel:
- This position is expected to work on-site at the restaurant location.
- Travel to additional restaurant locations may be required depending on business needs.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
- Hours worked per day and week will vary depending on business needs. Evenings and weekends may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds as required.
- Must be able to lift form floor to shoulder consistently.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds overhead.
- Must be able to twist and reach frequently.
- Must be able to grasp, move and manipulate objects consistently.
