Position Overview
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a fleet of mobile equipment in accordance with internal and manufacturer standards. The role focuses on performing daily preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of forklifts, skid steers, and company vehicles, while minimizing downtime and preventing major breakdowns with responsibilities such as inspections, diagnostics, fluid changes, and diesel maintenance expected. The position also serves as a secondary resource for troubleshooting and diagnosing more complex equipment issues, providing recommendations for repair or escalation. Collaboration with third‑party service providers is required for advanced repairs when needed. Overall, this role supports the upkeep of approximately 40 pieces of mobile equipment across different production departments, balancing preventive maintenance efforts with hands‑on repair work to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Problem solve, diagnose and repair a variety of systems and engines - focus will be Mobile equipment consisting of Forklifts, Skid Steers and other mobile vehicles
Perform preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance in an effective manner to increase mobile equipment availability and efficiency at minimum cost
Follow appropriate procedures to ensure safety, compliance, and accuracy
Direct and manage outside vendors and contractors
Responsible for billing outside contractor work and service agreements
Continually develop and advance in mechanical knowledge related to the position
Order and control parts/supplies, records, and monitor inventory
Maintain records to reflect all pending, scheduled and completed work
Ability to operate various types of mobile equipment
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
Prioritize work according to the needs of the business goals and objectives

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate’s Degree preferred
3-5 years’ relevant experience required
Valid driver’s license
Mobile equipment maintenance repair experience - experience working with Forklift and Skid Steer mobile vehicles required
Hydraulic systems experience - familiarity working with DC circuits, low voltage repairs, etc.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing experience required - good prioritization and time management abilities
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time
Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds
Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 100 feet
Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
Working conditions could include: dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces
