Position Overview

This position is responsible for communications, enrollment processing, claims facilitation, data maintenance and reporting for all employee group insurance benefits and other employee benefit programs and services in a manner that ensures accurate, efficient and effective administration. This position interacts frequently with personnel at all levels of the organization and serves as a key contact for external service providers including carriers and other vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiries from employees, retirees, HR Partners, department heads, insurance providers and other entities regarding claims, coverage and other plan provisions to ensure accurate and timely information and problem resolution.

  • Performs a wide range of duties related to the maintenance and processing of personnel records, monthly billing payments and reconciliation and reports.

  • Coordinates enrollment process and associated Workday transactions and maintains data to ensure employees receive and return appropriate paperwork in a timely manner and with required supporting documentation.

  • Coordinates procedures related to benefits including but not limited to new hire enrollments; dependent audits; retiree benefit enrollments; communication and administration of medical, dental, vision benefits, FMLA, STD, LTD leave processes, life insurance; COBRA administration.

  • Resolves issues related to benefits and contributes to continuous improvement solutions.

  • Provides clerical and operational support to other members of the benefits team and assists in or prepares correspondence as warranted.

  • Conducts presentations and trainings as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or the equivalent in work experience)

  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience required

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS system preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
