Position Overview

This position is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware, software, peripherals and data communication devices. In addition, the incumbent will provide moderately complex technical support using troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure timely resolution to end user problems and requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware and software, peripherals, and data communication devices. This includes installation of network adapters and support of hardware connections

  • Provide first level support and perform preliminary investigation of technical, operational and hardware problems. If unable to resolve the problem, escalate to ensure that end user problems are resolved in a timely and accurate manner

  • Answer helpdesk calls and e-mail requests in a responsive and professional manner, analyzing the problem, taking proper corrective action, documenting actions and notifying user of the resolution and/or status of their request

  • Perform basic maintenance of user accounts

  • Set up and deploy computer equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of auxiliary devices, cables, operating systems, and appropriate software

  • Provide administrative coordination by maintaining documentation relating to support tasks and resolution, maintaining computer equipment and inventory records, and monitoring the shipment/arrival/return of equipment to vendors or end users

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related discipline required

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills required

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Suite, ticketing software, Azure, and related programs preferred

  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience required
